Certifications and controls

Regarding the quality tests of Taleon olive oil, they are carried out by specialized laboratories with long experience regarding olive oil testing.
The controls cover all the possible factors so that Taleon olive oil is safe and healthy for the final consumer. Some of the controls are: Testing for residues of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Also, tests are carried out for checking the adulteration of the olive oil with other vegetable oils.

Taleon extra virgin organic olive oil is certified by DIO, the national certification organization for organic products. Our product is tested periodically to check whether it fulfills the conditions and whether all the necessary procedures are followed from the olive orchards till the bottling and the final consumer according to the established standards.
DIO is a specialized national organization that certifies and supervises organic products. It is the first Greek organization with great experience and specialized stuff with extensive knowledge on organic farming. DIO is a member of the EOCC (The European Organic Certifiers Council) while according to the Organic Certification Directory 2008 the organization has the 8th place among the certification organizations for organic products at an international level. The control procedure commences with the beginning of each cultivation and continues throughout all the phases of production, storage, packaging, bottling and trading phase till the final consumer. In particular, DIO carries out double controls and analysis compared to the number of controls foreseen by the law, while it follows the strictest standards regarding the tracing of fertilizers at an international level. Aims of the controls are the high nutritional value of the product, the human health and the protection of the environment against anything genetically modified.
