Ancient Greeks and mostly women used olive oil frequently for their body hygiene and their beauty.
They used to apply olive oil on their bodies to protect them from cold or heat. Men usually applied pure olive oil of excellent quality while women mostly scented olive oil. Also, they applied olive oil on their hair while sometimes they put some on their clothes as well so that they are shiny. They also believed that the goddesses of the Olympus used a special cream from olive oil, which had miraculous properties for the body. In Iliad, the goddess Hera applies scented olive oil all over her body.
